Stripes add a strong visual element, giving depth, texture and interest to a space. Usually associated with a graphic surface, subtle transitions and color combinations, however, can create quiet and intricate effects. Various techniques, including blending, glazing and dragging offer a non-mechanical appearance, customized to each surface and environment. All of the methods can be applied vertically, horizontally or diagonally and with overlapping patterns that play off color and transparency.
