Linoleum blocks were cut and printed directly on the walls of this bathroom. The pattern, reminiscent of Japanese stencils for textiles, begins densely near the floor decreasing towards the ceiling. Colors were chosen to complement the tile floor, at times pulling periwinkle accents into what is largely a subdued white, grey and taupe foreground. Block printing offers numerous advantages, being adaptable to different conditions. Patterns and colors are completely customized. |
