westport island, maine, bathroom
This new bathroom is part of an addition to an 18th century
Cape on Westport Island, Maine. The room is accessed from two
locations. The clients required that the design relate to the
early American aesthetic of their home, as well as to the modern
fixtures chosen. A simple palette of materials was selected
to unify the space, allowing subtle textures of fossils, pine,
and slate to create an intimate experience.
The construction was executed by Gordon Shields, a Maine builder
who approaches his work with a careful eye to layout and detail. |
