park slope kitchen
The challenge of this project
was to create a user-friendly kitchen within very narrow allowances.
Taking advantage of the high ceilings, finish located
the pull-out pantry and a run of upper and lower cabinets occupying
one wall only, allowing for the stove, sink and dishwasher to
be free from overhead clutter. This, combined with a down-draft
vent at the stove, makes the space appear larger than its footprint.
Handmade tile by Tripoli Tile creates a variegated color field
and softens the clean lines of the custom cabinetry, by GN Woodworks.
The counter material was chosen to contrast both. This collaboration
between finish and local craftspeople and builders
represents a network of Brooklyn-based talent.
